You can tell a lot of thought went into the making of this coffee maker from the correct angle spout on the caraffe to the mesh basket to hold the coffee and even to a little coffee scoop these people thought of everything that you would need the thing I like the most is unlike other coffee caraffe that when you're finished pouring your cup the coffee runs down the front this spout on this caraffe is that it a correct angle to remedy that situation also the type of plastic that they use is very cleanable not even water spots stick on it this is the first time I tried a gevi and I'm sold I just wanted a simple four cup coffee maker and I got so much more.1 brewed maybe 100 cups of coffee before writing this review. I love pretty much everything about this little gizmo. The pitcher can spill a little if doing 4 full cups otherwise it doesn't. The refill lid doesn't easily stay open when pouring in water. The side charging filter holder is amazing and I have yet to have even a drop of coffee drip when the pot is removed. I like this machine so much, I just ordered another one to stay in the box for when this one dies.I have seen many good and bad reviews. I almost didn’t buy this machine because many reviews mention that pressure gauge doesn’t work. I purchased this espresso machine and we absolutely love it. There is some knowledge required to extract espresso from coffee beans. Tamper pressure, how fine the grounds you are using are, and the amount of grounds that are used, all contribute to the pressure of the brew as well as the quality of espresso. Obviously this isn’t an industrial grade espresso maker, but it has the ability to make high quality espresso. We had a cheap Nespresso pod brewer and it very much so under brewed the espresso. This is a much better machine for the extra $50. Before purchasing any espresso maker, you should have some knowledge of making espresso and please ensure you have quality beans and a good quality coffee grinder that can grind extra fine grounds. Super happy and highly recommend. So, many reviews mentioned that it doesn't achieve the espresso pressure as marked in the gage.I found this to be true while using the finest setting on my $60 Cuisinart coffee grinder. But I did get the desired pressure when I bought illy ground espresso. I also noticed my finest grind did not compare to the Illy preground espresso. So, I bought the breville smart pro coffee grinder. Like magic, I'm pulling shots that are in the espresso area of the gage on the Brevi. If you're having low pressure problems, you have to have a better grinder. Hard to hear when your budget is tight. But if you want real espresso. Yeah.So all in all. I've spent about $400. To get real espresso at home. I'm delighted. And honestly that's still a bargin to achieve real espresso. I love the gevi, and that it does have the gage. How would I know if I have prepared my shot properly without a way to measure the pressure. So I bought the gevi on prime day $180The breville at bed bath beyond with a 20% coupon. $160. The non pressurized baskets 2, $22. The apex distributor $22 .I'm set. Although Id like bottomless portafilter?Previously I've had a Nespresso machine for the last 6 years. And love the ease and fast convenience, but knew I was missing the quality.Go for it, but you have to have a great grinder. I admit, I was a grinder skeptic until now.Good luck!Even when I have a full size pot I can only get one large cup of coffee in me before my work makes me forget it's there. I wasted a lot of coffee. So I got this small one. Perfectly brews my one large cup. I'm done in time for work. Rinse, dump grounds for next day prep is really easy..but...there seems to be a lot of coffee residue in the bottom of the globe. I can't stop that from happening. I dump the last bit of it out and rinse the filter holder.. still happens. Maybe I notice it more because the globe is so small.I was looking for a compact coffee maker and this one fit the bill perfectly. My only minor quibble is I wish they had a more positive catch for the swinging basket; I check it every time to make sure it's engaged. I'm generally not fond of metal filters, but this one seems to work well. It makes excellent coffee.Ok so its just what I needed, makes a great cup of coffee and well I love the soft blue light so much better then a red one ..... easy to clean and not loud,,and attractive my gosh perhaps I shall give it a nic name since its doing such a good job!!!! Seriously tho Thank you for a well made product at a fair price! It’s very small but it sure work great. Easy n convenient to place in a small space, the cup size it refers to is an espresso if your a large coffee drink you jus fill it up and your good.I purchased this coffee maker because it has no BPA in the plastic (supposedly) and its a good bran name. Having say so, while it looks great on the picture, it does not feel or look any different than a $20 black and decker as faras been flimsy. So overall this is just too expensive for the few features it has, and I feel I have been ripped off.I like this little coffee maker.
